Whole Foods Market
The Whole Foods Market in downtown Sarasota commissioned 11 monotypes which were translated into glass tiles for the exterior of the building. This project was their percent for public art required by Sarasota. The framed originals are hanging in the dining area. The images are dreamlike, and, I hope funny, scenarios of life in our subtropical region. Each piece is an integration of the people, plants and animal life where we live.
Bradenton River Walk Park
Bradenton’s newly-opened Riverwalk Park commissioned four of Jean’s works to celebrate the theme “Postcards from the Friendly Bradenton’s newly-opened Riverwalk Park commissioned four of Jean’s works to celebrate the theme “Postcards from the Friendly City”. Drawing on extensive research into the history of the Manatee River, Jean created imagined scenes of early Bradenton life, two of which are bordered by historical photographs of homesteaders and boats provided by the University of South Florida archives. These images, enlarged and translated into enamel on metal, are mounted along the park boardwalk. They have also been produced as giclees which are available for purchase.
All Children’s Hospital
All Children’s Hospital, a Division of Johns Hopkins, St Petersburg, Florida commissioned several photographic images for the main dining room some were wrapped around large interior columns, two were framed. One my largest Myakka River oil paintings was translated into a glass wall for the outdoor dining area.
